Immediate open access

Published research is freely accessible immediately upon publication, without an embargo, subscription or reader registration. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search and link to full texts, crawl them for indexing, and use them for any lawful purpose under the applicable open licence.

Accounts are required only for private submission and editorial workflows, not to read published articles. Confidential submissions and peer-review reports are not public research outputs.

Licensing and author copyright

JEERESD publishes research under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). This permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial reuse, with appropriate attribution, a licence link and an indication of changes. No additional legal or technological restrictions may be imposed on uses allowed by this licence.

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal non-exclusive rights to publish their work. Website branding and layout rights are separate from copyright in the articles.

Any third-party material excluded from the article licence must be identified with its rights holder and permission terms. A historical file with unclear or conflicting licensing should be reported to the editorial office for verification; this policy does not retrospectively change rights without the necessary authorisation.

Peer review and editorial independence

The journal policy requires at least two independent external reviewers for every research article proceeding to publication, using double-blind review. Editorial screening may reject a submission before external review. Editorial notices and non-research material must be clearly identified.

Reviewers must have suitable expertise, declare conflicts and protect confidentiality. Payment, nationality and waiver requests do not determine decisions. Authors receive comments and a reasoned decision, with a revision deadline where relevant.

For submissions from editors or board members, an independent editor must manage reviewer selection and the decision. The editorial office must monitor research authored by editors, board members or reviewers: such articles must not exceed 25% of the research articles in either of the latest two issues. This is an operational rule, not a claim that a retrospective audit has already been completed.

Special issues and guest editors

The Editor-in-Chief retains responsibility for all special issues. Guest editors must have their expertise and credentials checked. Special-issue articles must be labelled, remain within the journal scope and undergo the same independent review. A regular editor oversees guest editors; guest-editor-authored papers require independent handling and must not exceed 25% of the issue.

Fees and waivers

The standard article processing charge is 100 USD, only after acceptance. There are no submission, peer-review, rejection, additional page, colour-figure or supplementary-file charges.

Full waivers and partial reductions are available on request, subject to the published conditions and an individual assessment. See all charges, waiver conditions and refund rules. Acceptance cannot be purchased.

Author self-archiving

Authors may immediately deposit the preprint, accepted manuscript and published version in an institutional or subject repository of their choice, without an embargo. State the version and link to the published article and DOI when available; include the applicable licence and acknowledge third-party rights.

Preservation and archive status

Articles are hosted in the journal archive; some records also link to deposits in Zenodo. A DOI or a repository link alone does not establish that the entire journal is covered by a long-term preservation service. No journal-wide preservation agreement is claimed here.

Where a final file is missing or only an author manuscript is available, the archive identifies that limitation. Missing files and incomplete metadata should be reported to the editorial office. Existing article URLs and version labels must be preserved when files are restored.

Responsible use of AI and publication metadata

AI tools cannot be authors or cited as authoritative sources. Authors must disclose substantive generative-AI use and verify its outputs. Editors and reviewers must not use generative AI to produce their scientific assessments or upload confidential material to external systems. Disclosed language editing may be used only with adequate confidentiality safeguards and human responsibility.

Published articles should include author affiliations, an abstract, references and the actual submission, acceptance and publication dates. Dates, DOI registrations, indexing memberships and preservation coverage must never be invented. Metadata corrections must reflect the source publication.
